I have been trying out a new line of products lately at Lizzyshomemade. Fabric art! Over time I have amassed lots of fabric scraps and I have been trying to think of different ways to use the material. My first excursion into textile pictures has been with a Frida Kahlo fabric. I love this fabric which is a repeat pattern of Frida’s head on a vibrant green background. I have added a pretty pink Liberty of London fabric as the background in this picture. I must admit I do like the result. The two fabrics contrast nicely with one another.

Following on from the heart theme, I have made some lovely Orla Kiely heart applique pictures. Choose from dandelion yellow, teal blue or tomato red. All Orla hearts are sewn onto a matching background featuring tiny white spots. They would look lovely in a frame or as a stand alone on a shelf or bookcase.
I love 1950’s style of fashion and couldn’t resist making these lovely pictures from a beautiful sewing notions fabric that I have featuring a 1950’s ladies iconic outfit of a full skirt and fitted top. Other sewing and craft items are pictured, including old fashioned buttons and sewing machines. I just love this fabric!
Next up is a delightful picture for all those dog lovers out there. This features a quirky scottie dog print. Indeed lots of multi coloured scottie dogs on a navy background. I love this fabric and the card holder I make this fabric from keeps proving popular.
Lastly we have the spotty pink hen heart picture. This was inspired by my love of hens and the rescue chickens we have had over the years. A pretty pink spotty hen is cut into a heart shape and appliqued onto a bright pink background. Perfect for those hen lovers out there!
If there are any other fabrics that you would like to see in a picture, then please do let me know. I can change fabrics, sizes and patterns to suit you. Just click on my Etsy shop for more details and to send me a message.
Many thanks for looking x
