Happy New Year! I know it is belated but I hope everyone had a peaceful New Year. It has been nice to get back into a routine after the school holidays. I had a very busy Christmas period with lots of orders and was working just after Boxing Day too. January is normally a quiet month after all the chaos that Christmas brings, so I have been enjoying planning new projects and catching up on some sewing for me!

I came across this lovely William Morris fabric last year and it ended up being mixed in with other fabrics. I only noticed it when I was looking for a certain pattern. Just before Christmas I made a vintage style needlecase from it, which has proved popular. One of my lovely customers requested if I could make the needlecase in a particular fabric called The Strawberry Thief. Here is the result. I love both of these patterns as they are quite different. Also a change for me from florals and spots and dots!

In keeping with the vintage and retro theme, although slightly in a more modern fashion, I have made these cheerful grocery bags holders, which prove extremely useful for storing plastic bags in my house. I just love this fabric of retro sweet jars and happily discovered it came in pink, blue and green too!

Back to pink spots now! It has been nice to have time to experiment with some playful products too. These hanging hearts are made from an old Cath Kidston Rosalie fabric. Featuring a pale pink with tiny red dots, they are so sweet! The hearts come with a pretty see through pink ribbon to hang them up by and have a pale pink fabric rose at the top. Just in time for Valentine’s day!

Another new addition to my Etsy shop has been this lovely little memoboard. I sell lots of memoboards but I hadn’t made one in this particular fabric, until requested by a customer. The fabric is a Cath Kidston print featuring large white hearts filled with flowers, all on a cerise pink background. Although I had made sewing cases and storage bags with this fabric, I really do think it looks great as a memoboard. It would certainly brighten the place up.

With the dark mornings and evenings, it is nice to look ahead to Spring and Summer. This cheery flamingo fabric came in as an order for a memoboard just after Christmas. I loved making it so much, I thought it would be nice to have some summer accessories, so I made a sunglasses holder and a credit card holder too. I am looking forward to hopefully seeing some flamingos this year!
Don’t forget these items are available from my Etsy and Ebay shops and are all handmade to order. If you would like a specific design or fabric, then please message me via Etsy conversations.
Many thanks for looking.
