Happy New January

Welcome to Lizzyshomemade and Happy New Year!

One of my New Year’s resolutions is to write a monthly post on my blog, so here goes! After the rush of Christmas orders, I finally have some time to take stock and devote more attention to doing stuff online for Lizzyshomemade. Although some new sewing has also crept in!

As you can see from the background in the photograph, it’s been a very snowy time here in the Midlands. As I am lucky enough to have a garden office, getting there and back in deep snow isn’t ideal. However I loved making this nostalgic needle book. Made from Union Jack fabric, this needle book is great for storing pins and needles when on the go.

Another of January’s new makes are two new aprons, both in Liberty of London print fabric. There is a blue spot apron featuring botanical flowers and a pink one featuring the Liberty regent rose fabric. I love making aprons and new have these two Liberty ones in my entourage.

I have also tidied up some of my Etsy listings and have separated my Cath Kidston pocket tissue holder covers into two different sections. One featuring original spot fabric and the other section featuring more flowery prints.

Don’t forget that these items are available from my Etsy shop and Ebay shop and are all handmade to order.  If you would like a specific design or fabric then please let me know via Etsy conversations or send me a message!

What I’ve been up to.

Reading
: I am currently reading “Hamnet” by Maggie O’Farrell.  I love it so far plus i’m going to see the film soon!

Watching:  I’ve just finished watching all the winter Gardener’s World specials and looking forward to a new series with Monty this week.

What I’m doing: Continuing on the gardening theme, I am looking at sowing some early seeds in the garden, namely chillies.

I hope that you have found some lovely things to read, watch, make or do. I would love to know what you have been up to.
