Orla Makes!

I have always loved Orla Kiely fabrics. They are immediately noticeable and indeed very striking. My favourite is the stem patterned fabric. I have this pattern in various different colours. Although it is classed as an upholstery fabric, Orla Kiely fabrics are great for using in craft projects as they are fairly sturdy and very distinctive. Here are just a selection of some of my makes.

My most recent make was the pocket tissue holder cover. Durable, practical, washable and fun! I also have made a nostalgic Victoriana style needlebook, handy for on the go crafting projects. One of my other favourite makes is an appliqued Orla heart fabric picture. Continuing on the heart theme, there are also padded hanging hearts available.

I loved making this tote bag from the stem fabric. It is so useful and pretty to look at too. It comes fully lined and is of course washable. Ideal for your local farmers market.

Document wallets are great for storing A4 papers, sewing patterns and anything else you might like to keep!

These card holders have proved quite popular. Fully lined and padded and with a snap fastening, they can store several credit cards or store cards. Someone even ordered one as a lipstick purse!

This craft organiser is ideal for storing scissors, rulers and all your crafty bits and bobs. Alternatively, we use it for storing our remote controls!

Fabric memoboards are my most favourite thing to make. They comes padded and are criss crossed with matching fabric. I love making memoboards as it gives me a great chance to be creative with different patterns and colours.

Finally, in the Orla range, there are handmade padded sunglasses cases and a quilted cosmetic bag. For a fun twist, we have an Easter rabbit, complete with button eyes and a pretty ribbon.

Don’t forget that these Orla items are available from my Ebay shop and are all handmade to order.  If you would like a specific design or fabric then please let me know via Ebay or Etsy conversations or send me a message!

What I’ve been up to.

Reading
: I am currently reading “This Book Made Me Think of You by Libby Page
. I have read all of her books and I think this one is definitely my favourite read. Ideal for book lovers out there.

WatchingOn the context of trying to improve my Welsh, I am watching series 1 of “Dal y Mellt” on BBC IPlayer. This is a crime drama series with lots of dry humour. Great!

What I’m doing: The weather is lovely at the moment. Spring has come early so I’ve been sowing lots of tomato seeds and hardy annuals.

I hope that you have found some lovely things to read, watch, make or do. I would love to know what you have been up to.
