Cats & Fabric

I love cats, I always have. I go for “cat walks” to see how many cats I can spot. I have always had rescue cats from Cats Protection and my house is “cat themed”. Which is why most of my fabric stash is also cat themed and I thought I would bring together a blog about my obsession with cats.

I think it started off with some black cat fabric I found online. I made one of my first memoboards with the fabric. From then I expanded onto grocery bag holders, credit card holders and sunglasses cases, just to name a few. During lockdown, when I was inundated making face masks, I found some more cat fabrics and was amazed by how popular the face masks were.

I think that my favourite cat fabric is the Lucky Cat. So cute, with a lucky cat on a pale pink background. I have a lucky cat in my house and also a huge statue of one in my garden. Actually I think I have always been fascinated by lucky cats now I come to think of it!

I must have dozens of cat fabrics now. They range from the iconic black cat to tins of cat food (I love this one too!), from fabric featuring small cats and large cats to fabric featuring cats with glasses. The quirkier the better, to be honest.

This particular fabric is really an upholstery fabric, so is quite thick and sturdy and is ideal for making collapsible storage baskets. The cute cats with glasses are eye-catching!

I love this fabric! Featuring tins of cat food, it is so quirky and fun to look at. The tins of cat food are multi-coloured and they sit on a pale turquoise background.

You can find all these products in my Etsy shop. You can also have any of them made to order in a different fabric too. Subscribe to my blog and newsletter to receive a 10% offer code.
