Spring has sprung and with it the arrival of the sun in my north-facing garden which means that I can now peg my washing out. Hurray! Although this week the weather has been a bit on the chilly side! Hopefully the sun will make an appearance and all will be well.

I do sometimes feel like a 1950’s housewife whilst pegging my washing out rather than using the washer-dryer, but you just can’t beat the lovely smell of washing laundered outside, plus it saves on the electricity and is much better for the environment.
I started making fabric peg bags a few years ago and they have proved increasingly popular. This latest edition to the collection features a lovely Liberty of London print of symmetrical flowers. I also have other Liberty fabric peg bags available, for example, botanical flowers on cream and pink & yellow flowers.
I found this gorgeous pink fabric in my local fabric store. It features clothes and garments all hung out to dry on a washing line. How very appropriate!
I call this one bra peg bag. This is a great fabric featuring rows of bras hung in a symmetrical fashion. Unfortunately I can’t find this fabric anywhere anymore. It must have been discontinued.
I do love a bit of gingham. This peg bag personifies summer with a strawberry theme on a red gingham background. Roll on Wimbledon!
My garden birds peg bag is just delightful. I love the garden birds pattern. The lemon background goes so well with the contrasting pale blue binding.
All these peg bags are handmade to order and are washable. If you would like a peg bag made in another fabric that you have perhaps seen in my Etsy shop, just let me know.
Don’t forget that these items are available from my Etsy shop and are all handmade to order. If you would like a specific design or fabric then please let me know via Etsy conversations or send me a message!
What I’ve been up to.
Reading: I am currently reading “The Artist” by Lucy Steeds. This debut novel is set in the 1920’s in the South of France at the time of Cezanne and the post-impressionist artists.
Watching: The new series of Malcolm in the Middle, (not called that now, but I can’t remember the new title!). I loved the original series featuring Bryan Cranston. I’m not so sure about the new series, although it is nice to have all the old actors back reprising their roles.
Doing: It’s a busy time of year in the garden, so I am happily enjoying myself with planting out seeds that I have sown and creatively arranging the bedding plants!
I hope that you have found some lovely things to read, watch, make or do. I would love to know what you have been up to.
Rachel x
