Welcome to the July issue of Lizzyshomemade. It had been a very hot summer here in landlocked Birmingham. Impossible to sew in my little garden office which resembles a sauna on very hot days! We managed an welcome escape to Cornwall a few weeks ago. How lovely to be beside the sea and to have that lovely sea breeze! I must remember these lovely sunny days when I am freezing in winter with snow up to the back door!
Still selling well are my Liberty of London fabric pocket tissue holders. The one pictured in Carnaby Soho stripe. I love the symmetrical design of this floral print. It is bold and colourful and very popular.
I have finally updated my Liberty of London sunglasses holder range. Again, featuring the Carnaby Soho stripe, there are a few more other designs and prints in this collection.
Above is just a few of my recent orders. I especially love the strawberry apron, which proved quite popular during the Wimbledon tennis fortnight! It is an eclectic collection to say the least, ranging from chicken prints to Cath Kidston cowboy fabric!
I love making these retro style fifties aprons and enjoyed taking a sneaky pic of the cooking themed aprons. We have cupcakes, jammy dodger (in hearts), birthday cakes and finally, maids on a red gingham print. All are handmade to order and have adjustable straps plus are washable too!
Fancy a fiesta fling! I love flamingos, parrots and llamas and enjoyed making these catchy sunglasses holders plus some fun parrot bunting!
What I’ve been up to.
Reading: I am just starting !A Far Flung Life” by M. L. Steadman, author of “the Light between Oceans”. I liked the first book and the film tie-in, so high hopes for this new book. characters.
Watching: The Sewing Bee on Tuesday nights! Plus I did enjoy watching an awful lot of tennis during the Wimbledon fortnight. My life seems strange without the addition of Wimbledon!
Doing: Watering, watering and even yet more watering! No rain since I can remember when! We’re lucky at the time of writing there is no hosepipe ban. Plus enjoying picking my sweet peas and roses from the garden.
